Welcome to the latest wikiHaus Lab update! Here’s what’s happening for April 27th:

:rocket: What’s happening?Adding images to tips. The team is testing out making article tips more visually interesting. Currently, they’re experimenting with adding images to each tip as a slideshow, like you can see here . What do you think? Do you have any other ideas for the Tips section?

:rocket: What’s happening?Continuing to experiment with interactive elements. We’ve just added a “wikiHow Reader Guide” at the end of some articles that asks readers what they want to do next. Currently this is only available logged out, so I’ll post a pic below, or you can see it directly here: How to Draw Blood from Hard to Hit Veins: 15 Steps (with Pictures)

:rocket: Update:We’re continuing to iterate with the user journey. The widget I mentioned in the last update has been introduced, so people can keep track of where they are in the journey. It’s currently in the lower right of the screen (logged out), but that might change to top right, and will likely only be on full screen sizes moving forward. The widget shows up after you click on one of the articles in the “Expert Series” section after the steps, and then you can easily get to other articles in the series by clicking on the titles in the widget.

Something neat that I noticed about the wikiHow Readers guide at the end of some articles is that it does not have the same options every time, but I noticed that sometimes it will say, 'I want to support wikiHow by turning my ad blocker off." The answer on that isn’t very helpful though. Perhaps the answer could link to How to Whitelist wikiHow on an Ad Blocker ? I’m not sure how many people would click through though.

Also, is this feature going to be enabled for logged in users in the future?

I’ll pass that suggestion on to Kevin, thanks @R2_d2000 !

As for it being available logged in eventually, I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t see why not. I think it’s just the experimental phase for now, and then should roll out for everyone if it sticks around:slight_smile:
