We have a date and a place reserved.  The 2018 wikiHow meetup will be in Minneapolis.

The amazing @Anna started a search 2 months ago:

https://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/23601/help-figure-out-where-meetup-2018-should-be/p1

As in past years she looked all over for a place that fit the wikiHow community vibe and would be well suited for a great event.  And she found a hotel in Minneapolis that fits our vibe really well:

Save the date on your calendar now!  For those new to wikiHow the meetups are always really fun events.  Invitations will go out many months from now.  Like last year, invitations will be based on contributions to wikiHow, so please remain active if you’d like to attend.

So whose already looking forward to our next meetup?

I thought this might be the location based off of the other discussions on forums, and glad to see it confirmed! Can’t wait!!!

Looks sweet!

Back to my old stomping grounds in the Twin Cities.:slight_smile:

Wow, great news @ JackHerrick  and thanks to @Anna for all her hard work sorting out a venue, it looks FAB!  Date is locked into my dairy!

Looking forward to it:slight_smile:Always love these meetups and the creative juices that flow during these:slight_smile:

@JackHerrick It is great to know that the next WikiMeetup is at Minneapolis.

Woo! Sticking close to the mississip it seems!

That looks so cool!

This hotel looks pretty fancy! Kinda eager to see what happens when the 2018 meetup rolls around:slight_smile:

Whoop whoop! I’m pretty excited about this venue - I’ve been talking to one of the staff members there for several weeks now, and I think it’ll be a good vibe for us. Plus, I kind of love that it’s on the university campus… they describe the hotel as “geek-chic”, and I’d say we’re a bunch of chic geeks, so it’ll prob work out quite well:wink:

Also stoked there’s lots of interest here! I’m going to tag everyone who came to the meetup this year and a few that I know have expressed interest in the general idea…

@Adelaide @Byankno1 , @ChocolateFan1 , @DifuWu , @Eric , @Galactic-Radiance , @Ginny-K . @InfernoTerra , @Joel.Miles925 , @Jordan , @KernelPone , @Krystle , @Loiswade42 , @Lutherus-Shyrilser , @MissLunaRose , @SarahB , @Ttrimm , @WikihowSaver , @Zack

@Davecrosby @KommaH @Tiagoroth @Danielbauwens @Atheia

If you’re not tagged, though, that doesn’t mean a thing! As Jack said, just stay involved/active with the site/community, and keep your eyes on the forums for updates in the new year.

Oh, and I’ve made a few updates to  https://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Meetups to get the ball rolling… we won’t get to real event planning until probably early 2018, buuuut in the meantime, if anyone knows the area well (cough * @Eric * cough) or wants to do any travel research for field trip/activity ideas, that’s a great place to put info/links/etc so we can come back to them in due course.

We will attend, I feel very certain about that:slight_smile:

I’ll try my hardest to attend. But if I get the job at a major retailer with the interview coming today, that meetup future is in jeopardy. They depend on employees all weekends.

Good luck @byankno1

@ Byankno1   hey Chris, good luck with the job and please don’t forget that I need someone like you to help me through the various airport terminals like you did this this year in May!  I’m still very grateful for all your help there in St Lousis and Philadelphia!

I hear you coughing, @Anna .:stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry @Eric , frog in my throat! Whatyagonnado:slight_smile:
