About This Article
Before cleaning your DVD player, remove any discs that are in the player and unplug it to prevent possible shocks. Take a slightly damp cloth and wipe it over the top, front, and sides of the player to remove surface dust and dirt. Don’t wipe the back or underside of the player, since the moisture from the cloth could damage delicate electronic components. Instead, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe around the cable ports, vents, or any other areas on the back or bottom of the DVD player where you notice a buildup of dust. When you’re done cleaning the outside of the player, plug it back in and put in a lens cleaning disc to gently clean the inside of the player. Follow any prompts on the screen while the cleaning disc is running.
