Dvalin, known as Stormterror, is the first major story boss that you will have to defeat near the end of the Mondstadt chapter. One of the Four Winds of Mondstadt, he was poisoned by the Abyss Order to launch deadly attacks on the city. To take back Dvalin, these poisoned wounds need to be destroyed. After confronting Stormterror for the first time, the Mondstadt chapter of the main story is essentially over. Subsequent "memories" battles are similar except for one thing: you will not get to try Venti (Lord Barbatos) and you will not have to fire at Dvalin's tainted clots while following him; instead, you will get right to battling Stormterror. This wikiHow will show you how to confront Stormterror in Genshin Impact and take Dvalin back in the Trounce domain "Storming Terror". You can only get Trounce rewards for completing the "Memories" domains.
Steps
When confronting Stormterror for the first time, you will have to fire at Dvalin's tainted clots, break down Anemo energy, and use that energy to keep up with him.
-
Aim your cursor at the crosshair. Follow Dvalin as he flies through the skies. Hold the mouse button or press the fire button to fire. This will fire shots at the crosshair.
- If you are not hitting the crosshair, then adjust your aim.
-
Dodge the purple orbs. At some point, Dvalin is going to fly too far out of reach. The purple orbs will deal damage when you hit them.Advertisement
-
Fire at the Anemo orbs. When large green Anemo orbs appear on screen, aim your cursor and fire at them. This will break the Anemo orbs down into green rings.
-
Use WASD or the joystick to fly through the green rings. These green rings are pure Anemo energy; hitting them will cause you to fly faster and closer to Dvalin.
-
Repeat to complete the first part of the battle. After completing this part of the battle, you will be teleported to the battle arena to complete the second part.
This part is in a sidescrolling circular arena with many platforms; you cannot adjust the camera position except when firing at Dvalin.
-
Use an archer to attack Dvalin while he is idle. If battling for the first time, you will get to try Venti. Otherwise, you will need to use Amber or Fischl.
-
Stay away from Dvalin when he swoops down. When this happens, Dvalin's claws could deal damage to your character. Be sure to move towards the edge of the platform to avoid taking damage.
-
Stay away from Dvalin's breath. In another of his moves, Dvalin will land on the platform you are on and blow at you. Move towards the other side of the platform to dodge this attack, and deal damage to Dvalin's talons to break down his shield.
-
Avoid Dvalin's bite. To do so, dash when you see his mouth moving towards you after he perches on the platform. You can attack his talons to break down his shield here as well.
-
Keep from the pulse bombs. In this move, Dvalin will fire while flying. To do so, move from one end of the platform to another.
-
Avoid the omega bomb. In this move, Dvalin will suck up as much energy and blast it at the platform you are currently on. This attack deals a lot of damage to the character and the platform you are on.
-
Cycle between platforms. Every 2-8 minutes, Dvalin will launch "Caelestinum Finale Termini", an attack that damages and heats up the platform you are currently standing on. If this happens, you cannot stand on the platform you are currently on. You will have to rotate to another platform to continue fighting without taking damage over time.
- The amount of damage dealt is not significant, but it can add up over time.
- If you are too slow, all the platforms will be affected by this effect.
-
Attack Dvalin's clot when you break his shield. Use your archer to launch charged attacks and aim at Dvalin's clot when he falls onto the platform. While you can climb onto Dvalin to do this, it is too slow and does not deal enough damage quickly enough.
-
Repeat to defeat Dvalin. The first time you play, a cutscene will play. Subsequent times a Ley Line blossom will spawn on the platform you are on, and you can use it to collect rewards.
-
Locate the Trounce Blossom. This looks a bit like a wilted flower and is in the center of the current platform you are on.
-
Use the Resin to revitalize the blossom. If you do not have enough Original Resin, you can use Fragile Resin instead.
-
Collect rewards. Depending on your level, you may get different rewards, but you will always get 200 EXP.
-
Leave the domain. After completing the Trounce domain, you can exit by locating the blue gate with four squares on it.

QuestionHow do you get Kazuha?Seasalt25Top AnswererSince Kazuha is a limited 5 star character, you can only get him by rolling on his banner. However, the event banners are limited, and you never know when there will be a rerun next. Save up enough primogems, intertwined fates, or real life money to spend on Kazuha's banner whenever he is reran.

QuestionHow to dodge Stormterror?Astro_FireyCommunity AnswerOne of Stormterrors attacks include it blasting its blue flames on the platform you are on after landing on the side of it. This one can be avoided by collecting the Anemo wisp things that will appear either side of the platform. You can then glide through the current to the next platform. The other attacks can be avoided rather easily.
