You need to do a lot of reading, you need to do sketching, but primarily, you need to find a good teacher in your area who will help you to see what you're missing. We have a tendency to actually not see what's in front of us, you have to develop an artist's eye.
  • Question
How do I draw his mouth?
    Community Answer
Harry has a very small mouth, so start with a line with a slight curve upwards or downwards, depending on what expression you want to show. Add a small curve at the bottom for a bottom lip and two small bumps and another bend for the top lip.

Nothing is hard to draw if you don't worry about your results. A stick figure with black hair, glasses and a lightning bolt scar would be recognized as Harry Potter by most people. If you are frustrated with your result or you find it too difficult to draw something, think about why you want to draw it. If you're just drawing "for fun" and you don't find it fun, don't draw it! Draw something else, or even do a different activity.
  • Question
How do I draw his glasses and eyes?
    Community Answer
Since his glasses are round, you could use something like a bottle cap to make sure they are perfectly round. As for his eyes, they are kind of almond-shaped.
  • Question
How do I draw the hair details?
    Community Answer
Draw lines out from his parting but don't draw them exactly the same length or in exactly the same place. If you want to draw the hair over his face, then don't do them straight. Rub out a little of the outside of his face and draw the hair through there. If you are doing more than one in the same place (advisable) then you could do them like an uneven zigzag.
  • Question
How do I draw Harry Potter's scar accurately?
    Community Answer
First draw a symbol of lightning on his forehead slightly towards the left side so that the scar gets covered by his hair. Then give it a wonderful shape and colour it as slight red by the border. Then slight along the yellow line. And it's done.
