  • Question
Should exfoliation be done daily? And at what time?
    Community Answer
You should only really exfoliate once or twice a week, including using the suggested handmade exfoliation. Do it either in the morning or preferably at night, when you'd usually wash your face anyway.
  • Question
How many times a day do I have to apply body lotion?
    Community Answer
Apply according to your skin type. If you have dry skin, apply it twice or thrice as needed. If you have oily skin, once in a day will be enough.
  • Question
I am a 12 year girl, and my skin is rough. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Make a skin care routine starting with cleansing your skin using a gentle product, then toning, followed by a moisturizer. If you ask a pharmacist, she or he will give you more advice.
  • Question
How can I make my hands smooth?
    Community Answer
Buff your hands gently with an exfoliator, then apply a generous amount of hand lotion. Repeat the process each day to get baby soft skin on your hands!
  • Question
Will a face mask help to get rid of dry skin?
    Community Answer
There are some face masks that are especially designed to make your skin softer. You can make a homemade mask by mashing medium-sized ripe banana into a smooth paste, then gently applying it to your face and neck. Let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. Banana has natural hydrating properties, so it will make your skin soft. Another recipe is to mix 1/4 cup of plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of honey (a natural acne remedy), and 1 banana together.
  • Question
Can I achieve results with just shampoo and soap and without all those fancy moisturizers?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can. Look for cheaper products without dyes or colorings and with good basic ingredients.
  • Question
Will following the advice in this article help clear up rashes?
    Community Answer
Trying to exfoliate with homemade and chemical products tends to irritate rashes more, but if you must exfoliate, then use honey and sugar because the honey has antiseptic properties. Make sure to pat dry with an extra fluffy and soft towel and instead of lotion use baby oil to limit any further irritation.
  • Question
I have strange bumps on my hip bones, thighs and upper arms. How can I make them go away?
    Community Answer
See your doctor. It is impossible to know from your description what the bumps may be. Small bumps on the back of your upper arms could be Keratosis pilaris. Amilactin lotion can be purchased in the drugstore and can help with this. If you have large bumps, they could possibly be leiomyomas. I have this condition which is an incurable genetic condition that can, in some instances, be associated with more serious conditions. This is characterized by hard, pea-sized bumps that can often cause pain when touched or when it is cold. As said already, see your doctor.
  • Question
How do you choose the perfect moisturizer?
    Community Answer
People have different skin and different skincare goals, and it's best to try different things until you find what works best for you. You can read reviews of different moisturizers online, and you can also ask a dermatologist for a recommendation.
  • Question
If I tried all of this stuff and it didn't work, what should I do?
    Community Answer
Consult your doctor and do a little more research on your skin type and any medical conditions in your family that could cause skin problems.
  • Question
I am 17 years old but my skin look like 25-30 years. Any reason?
    Community Answer
It could just be genetic, there could be something physically wrong with you, or you might just need to take care of yourself better. Get enough sleep, eat healthy, exercise, don't stress too much (and manage your life well so you don't cause yourself unnecessary stress). Clean your skin with a gentle cleanser twice a day and use a good moisturizer.
  • Question
Can I use white sugar instead of brown sugar?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can use white sugar instead of brown sugar.
  • Question
Can I make a mask from the honey and milk solution?
    Community Answer
Yes you can, it works wonderfully, since honey is a natural cleanser and milk will give you soft skin because it's a moisturizer. Some people use milk for sunburns, so that's an extra tip.
  • Question
I have these really weird bumps on my arms and I am told if I exfoliate and use a scrubber or a loofa, they will go away. But I have not seen any change and it's really embarrassing. Any ideas?
    Community Answer
I had the same thing as a teenager; you just need to be patient. Continue to exfoliate and make sure you moisturize regularly. If it really bothers you, talk to your doctor.
  • Question
What if I don't have a bathtub? How will I be able to get to use the honey and milk solution?
    Community Answer
Use your shower. Add the milk to a damp face washer, with honey. This may get sticky but soak the face washer in salt water after showering, to remove dirt.
  • Question
I never eat oily foods, but I have pimples. How can I clear up the pimples and make my skin soft?
    Community Answer
Eating oily foods doesn't affect your skin as much as people say it does. Just get a good, gentle face cleanser and use it every day. (In my experience, non-foaming soaps are best.) After washing, use a facial moisturizer.
  • Question
How can I get rid of black scars on my legs?
    Community Answer
Vitamin E is good for scar fading. You might want to try gently exfoliating, possibly with chemical as well as physical exfoliates, as this will promote cell turnover, resulting in scar fading.
  • Question
My skin seems to be getting more rough and itchy lately, is this because of my lack of moisturizer? If it is, what steps can I do to get rid of this?
    Community Answer
Yes, it's because of a lack of moisture. Following the steps in this article should help you, but at the very least you should look for a facial moisturizer designed specifically for dry skin.
  • Question
Whenever I wash around my nose, it's really painful. What should I do?
