QuestionHow can I make olive color?syedshabbir zaidiCommunity AnswerTo make the color olive green, first mix one part blue paint into three parts yellow paint to create a shade of green. From there, adding a touch of red will deepen the hue to make olive green. But go easy—too much red and you'll end up with brown paint.

Questionwill red & blonde give me a strawberry blonde color?Community AnswerNot unless you know how to mix the correct ratio. Besides, it's unnecessary. Available blonde shades range from dark blonde 7.0 to 10.0 lightest baby blonde. First select the shade. 10.6 would be light strawberry blonde, 8.6 medium strawberry blonde, etc. In order to select the correct shade you need to know your natural base colour. Tint only lifts 4 shades on virgin hair, 5 using high lift booster tints. So if your hair is jet black #1 the lightest shade you can achieve is 5.0 medium brown or 6.0 ginger with high lift tint. If you want to mix your own colour, only add 5 ml of red to the blonde mix and extra 2.5 ml of 10 v peroxide.

-
QuestionOnce dye is mixed dye with developer, how long can it sit before using?Community AnswerThe short answer is, it shouldn't. Not if it's permanent color, which lifts the cuticle of the hair, slightly lightens it, then deposits the color molecules onto the hair. If you wait to apply and miss the first 15 to 20 minutes, you will not achieve the desired color. This is especially true if the target color is lighter or brighter, than your existing color. The cuticle needs to be lifted for complete grey coverage also, making the first 15 to 20 minutes of processing necessary.
-
QuestionIf I use a ratio of 1:1 developer and colour, how will it differ from a ratio of 2:1?Jordan BrownCommunity AnswerThe first ratio will make the developer less powerful and make the processing time increase. If you want a low processing time, use more developer. However, using more developer can damage your hair.

QuestionTo tone grassiness, can I mix a medium cool blonde with a warm blonde? They are 1 number apart.Ashley FredericoCommunity AnswerTo tone brassiness, just go with the medium cool shade. If you are more orange brassy, you will want a blue base toner to counteract the orange. And if you are showing more yellow hues, then you need a purple-based toner. Usually, the "cool" shades have blue and purple bases, so it should work just fine.
-
QuestionCan I mix dark ash blonde with medium brown and what color will it likely be?Ashley FredericoCommunity AnswerAsh of any color will have a green base, therefore you must balance it out with a golden or warmer (reddish) based color to avoid any mucky green hue results. I suggest dark ash blonde with a medium copper brown, and the results will be a natural light/medium brown. There is a lot to put into account when it comes to coloring hair, you have to take in account what your hair color already is and then what your desired color you wish to achieve. And based off that, you can then go into color formulas you will have to use, I suggest going to your local hair store or another hair supply chain and definitely have a professional help you pick out the products you will need.
-
QuestionI want to mix copper red with ash brown. How would that work out?Ashley FredericoCommunity AnswerResults would be a natural, maybe slightly golden, brown. That is, if your starting hair shade is lighter than what you are trying to achieve.

QuestionCan I mix 30v developer and silver dye together to achieve silver hair?Ashley FredericoCommunity AnswerNo, to achieve silver dyed hair, you must bleach the hair to the blondest possible level it can withstand before damaging it. Then you can tone it with a silver toner or use deposit only (no developer) silver dye for more vibrant and lasting results. I suggest going to a salon and having a professional take on the task for you, it's a tedious process and can cause damage and a mess to your hair if you are not careful.

QuestionHow do I get a purple mix? Mixing red and blue seem out, if I'm not supposed to mix opposites.Community AnswerYou can absolutely mix red and blue to get purple. I have much better results that way than with buying purple hair dye. For some reason, I cannot find a purple hair dye that will last for any length of time. Some wash out with the very first shampoo. However, blue and red eyes are very long lasting and I ve had great luck mixing the two and achieving purple that lasts. The shade of purple you desire will determine how you mix your colors. For example, if you want it closer to blue on the color scale, you start with blue and add some red to your bowl. If you want a more violet red, you start with red and add blue.
