    Community Answer
You can use hot water, mixed with milo powder. If you want it cold, add ice. Although, it won't be as creamy if you don't use milk. If dairy is the issue, you can use plant-based milk (soy, almond etc.).

Milo is not high in fiber, so it's unlikely to help with your constipation. Drinking plenty of water is good for constipation and if you don't like water, drinking Milo instead could help. Coffee is also suggested for constipation; if you don't like the taste of coffee, you could try mixing Milo and instant coffee.

    Community Answer
There are many substitutes and imitations around like Horlicks and Ovaltine (ovalmaltine). Or you can make your own substitute by combing 1/2 c raw sugar, 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa, 1/2 c almonds, 1/2 c unsalted cashews, 2 tbsp chia seeds, and 2 tbsp sunflower seeds in a food processor - use 2-3 tbsp of this mixture per glass of milo-less Milo.
  • Question
Hi, I just used plain Milo powder and 3 spoon full of it, it doesn't really taste sweet. Is this really it's original taste? Not sweet?
    Clheart
    Community Answer
The formula of Milo was changed a few years ago, but even before then, it wasn't very sweet compared to sweetened hot chocolate mixtures or chocolate milk (for example).
  • Question
Is it a good idea to drink hot prior to bedtime?
    Clheart
    Community Answer
Many people find hot drinks before bed relaxing. Milo might have enough sugar to keep you awake for longer though - this varies from person to person, so the only way to know if this is the case is to try it yourself, perhaps on a weekend when you can sleep in. Be aware that some people need to urinate in the middle of the night after having a hot drink before bed, so if this happens to you and it's a problem, stop having the drink so soon to bedtime.
