How to Set a Custom Background for Your Steam Profile (2021)

This wikiHow will teach you how to set a custom background on Steam. The method to get wallpapers has changed, since they are rarely available for purchase from the market or tradeable, but are generally bought with points from The Points Shop. [1] If you have trading cards of backgrounds, you can still use them and find them in the edit profile section of your profile.

Changing Your Steam Background

In Steam, click on your username in the top right corner. Click "View profile" or "Profile" and select "Edit Profile" on the right. Click "Profile Background," then select an available background. If you only have the Default background available, buy more using Steam Points in the Steam Points Shop.
