      • Open the Settings app and tap Privacy & Security .
      • Tap Contacts .
      • Tap the toggle switch next to WhatsApp to turn it off.
      • Tap it again to turn it back on.

      • Close WhatsApp.
      • Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the gear icon.
      • Tap Passwords & accounts (stock Android) or Accounts and backup , followed by Manage accounts (Samsung).
      • Tap WhatsApp .
      • Tap Remove account and confirm. You may receive an alert informing you that your messages, contacts, and other data will be deleted from your phone. This is not the case, so don't worry.
