wikiHow:Contributions to Charity

wikiHow's mission is to help others by providing how-to instructions for free . By showing advertisements to non-registered users, we are able to fund our expenses and donate some money to charities that share our goals of creating and spreading knowledge freely.

To date, we have donated over $220,000 to several organizations:

• $103,500 to the Wikimedia Foundation
• $24,500 to Creative Commons
• $92,000 to other charities

We chose these organizations because they share our goals of using collaboration to create and share knowledge.
