Do you have pictures you want to post on X, formerly Twitter? You can post tweets with images that are up to 5 MB in size in the JPEG, PNG, and GIF formats. You can also post pictures when you reply to other people's tweets. Here's how to add images to your tweets on X (Twitter) using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

Posting Images on Twitter via Your Computer

Go to the X website . You can use any desktop web browser to add images to your tweets. If you aren't already logged into your X account, do so now.
- If needed, you can reset your X password .

2Find the post box. This is at the top of your main feed. You'll see " What's happening? " in a text box along with a few post options. [1] X Research source
- If you want to upload an image as a reply to someone else's post, find the post. Then, click the message bubble icon to open the reply window.

3Click the "Media" icon. This is the square with a sun and a mountain. Your computer's file navigator will open.

Select the image you want to share and click Open . If you don't already have the image on your computer, you'll need to save it to your device first.
- Alternatively, double-click the image to open it.
- If you want to add more photos, hold CTRL (Windows) or CMD (Mac) as you click. Otherwise, you can click the Media icon again and select another image.

Compose your new tweet. Enter text, hashtags, emojis, or other content to accompany your image, if desired. Adding tags is a great way to increase visibility on your posts.
- You can even edit the photos in X. Click the paintbrush icon at the top-left corner of the picture to open the image editor.
- If you only want to give certain people the ability to reply, click the globe icon and select: Accounts you follow , Verified accounts , or Only accounts you mention . Otherwise, everyone can reply by default.

Click Post . Once you're satisfied with your post details, you can post it. It may take a moment for the post to appear on your feed.
- If you made a mistake, you can delete the post and upload it again.

Posting Images on Twitter via Mobile

Open the X mobile app. If you don't already have the app installed, you can download it for iPhone or iPad from the App Store or for Android from the Google Play Store .
- If you aren't already logged into your account, tap Log in and enter your account information to do so now.

2Tap + to start a new post. This is at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- If you want to upload an image as a reply to someone else's post, find the post. Then, tap the message bubble icon to open the reply window.

3Tap the "Media" icon. This is the square with a sun and a mountain. Your device's Gallery or Camera Roll will open.
- If this is the first time X is accessing your photos, you may need to allow permission.

4Select the photo(s) you want to add. If you select more than one photo, you'll see the number in the top-right corner. The images will appear in the tweet in the order you've chosen.

5Tap Add . This will add the selected images to your post.
