Learn how to get your Libby books onto your Kindle device

Using Libby on a Kindle or the Kindle App

Log in to Libby. You can do this on your phone, computer, or even on your Kindle (jump ahead for our Kindle instructions ).
- To get a Libby book on your Kindle, your Kindle must have an internet connection. If your Kindle can't connect to Wi-Fi, you won't be able to get a Libby book on your Kindle device. However, you can still get it delivered to your Kindle app or Kindle for the Web.

3Click or tap Loans . It's at the top of the screen, above the Holds option.
- If you don't currently have any loans, click the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen and search for a book you'd like to borrow, then click or tap Borrow next to the book.

4Click or tap Read With Kindle . The button will be under the book's title.

5Sign in with Amazon. If your Kindle is not connected to your Amazon account, you must connect it before proceeding. If your Kindle is brand new, simply plug it in and go through the first-time setup—the Kindle will ask you to register the device to your Amazon account. If the Kindle is not new and is registered to a different Amazon account:
- Open your Kindle's settings and tap on Your account .
- Tap Deregister device and then re-register your Kindle under the correct Amazon account.

6Click or tap Get Library Book . The Libby book is now connected to your Amazon account, and you can access it on your Kindle device, in the Kindle app, or in Kindle for Web. The book will be in your library with the rest of your ebooks. [1] X Research source
- Kindle device: Once your Amazon account syncs with your Kindle, the book will be available to read. To speed up this process, open your Kindle and swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap Sync .
- Kindle app: The book is immediately available on your Kindle app for reading.
- Kindle for Web: After clicking Get Library Book , click or tap Read now in Kindle for Web to immediately open the Libby book in your web browser.

Tap the three-dot icon on your Kindle home screen. It's in the upper-right corner.
- Kindle e-readers can't install the Libby app, as they're not actual tablets. Though often called a "Kindle Fire," the Amazon Fire tablet is not the same as a Kindle e-reader. Like most tablets, the Amazon Fire tablet can get the Libby app.

2Tap Web Browser . Despite being an e-reader, the Kindle has a basic web browser that can be used for simple tasks (such as logging in to Libby).

3Go to [2] X Research source . Note that the Kindle web browser is much slower than the browser on your computer or phone. Only use the Kindle web browser if you're not able to use a different type of web browser or the Libby app on your phone or tablet.
