- Apply approximately 2.5 cm (1") of water each week through rainfall or irrigation.
-
Fertilize regularly.
- A water soluble fertilizer is the easiest to use for fertilizing gazania in the garden or in containers.
- Apply every 2-3 weeks for pots and other containers and every 4-6 weeks in the garden.
-
Obtain seeds from your local nursery, garden centre, or online. The seed should be planted in early spring, the seedlings in late spring. If planting seeds, use a peat and sand mix and expect the seeds to germinate in around two to three weeks.
- Grow in the right climate. Gazanias need a warm growing climate that stays above 8ºC (45ºF) during the night. If you can't guarantee this, they'll need to be planted in a greenhouse.
- Choose a sunny location for the seedlings. The sunnier the better.
-
Grow many varieties of gazania.
