Murder Mystery is an extremely popular game on Roblox. Murder Mystery consists of 3 roles, Innocent, Sheriff and Murderer. It is so popular that people made clone games such as The Mad Murderer 2 and Twisted Murderer.
Steps

Do not stand by or follow the Sheriff. This is a common mistake made by early players, as they think that the Sheriff can guard them. However, the Murderer may be among the innocents and will kill both the Sheriff and all of the Innocents. Sometimes, if you follow the Sheriff, it might think that you are the murderer so they might shoot you. Instead, stay a fair distance away, so that you can grab the dropped gun and shoot the Murderer.

Stay away from people acting suspiciously. These include:
- People trying to get behind you
- People attempting to join a large group
- People staying as close to a Sheriff as possible
- People making strange jumping moves.
- People standing completely stationary

Stay as far as possible from the Murderer. Murderers might have auto-stab and stab you even from 1-5 feet away. It is best to stay far as they could not use their knife to melee you.

Run towards a crowd when in a situation where the murderer tries to kill you. Run and Jump at the right time to dodge throwing knives to try to get to a crowd where the sheriff is located at to alert the sheriff and distract the murderer. This makes the murderer get away from you also.

5Pick maps by voting for them. Pick the ones that have good hiding spots. For example, the bank is a good map because they have scanners that tell if a person has a weapon or not.

Do not assume/listen to accusation unless you are 100% sure that that player is the Murderer. If you shoot an Innocent, both you and the Innocent will die, that's why finding evidence to the Murderer is crucial.

Do not join large groups. This is a common mistake made by early players, as they think the Innocents will pick up the gun. However, the Murderer might be among them, waiting to surprise you.

Do not equip your gun first if you do not know the Murderer. Murderer tends to kill the Sheriff by surprise and first as target to guard the gun to prevent people from shooting him/her. Therefore, you should not hold your gun and wait for the Murderer to pull out the knife before equipping the gun and shoot the Murderer as shown in the image.

4Look for evidence. Evidence is crucial for finding out who the Murderer is which includes the name of the Knife, Effect of the Knife, location of the bodies and the effects on the dead bodies.

Do not hold the knife in your hand. It immediately alerts the Sheriff as well as everyone around that area that you are the Murderer.

Make sure nobody notices you murder someone. If they do, the Sheriff might be alerted.

Do not kill large groups. A lot of Innocents will run away and will know that it is you.

Try to kill people far away from large groups. If they are near another person, they will hear the death sound, will go to investigate and will alert the Sheriff.

Try to hit someone if you plan to throw a knife. If you throw knives without hitting anything, the Sheriff can easily track you down.

6Try to be secretive! If you know good hiding spots, search them. If you see people hiding and nobody else is around, kill them. Nobody will have seen expect the person you killed!

1Avoid other people if you are an innocent. You never know, a nice looking girl might be the killer. Pick up the gun the sheriff drops when the sheriff dies to become a Hero!
- If you're the Sheriff, take out the murderer before the murderer takes out everyone!
- If you're the murderer, take out everyone before the time runs out. Do not get shot by the sheriff or a Hero.
- In Dark Classic, everything is the same as classic rounds, but everything is dark and you will not be able to see far due to the darkness.

2Take out the Juggernaut before he/she kills all the sheriffs if you're the Sheriff. If you're the Juggernaut, use your knife and upgraded abilities to eliminate all of the sheriffs.

3Kill everyone else with a knife while staying alive to be the last Murderer in Massacre.

4Kill everyone else with a gun while staying alive to be the last Sheriff in Sheriff Madness.

5Eliminate the opposing team with a gun/knife along with your teammates to wipe out the other team in TDM if you're Sheriff or Murderer.

6Watch for the 2 sheriffs and 2 murderers in Double Murderer. This is the same as classic rounds, but there are 2 sheriffs and 2 murderers. Note that the Murderers can kill each other but the Sheriffs can't.
