Celery strings can be a little tough and chewy sometimes and when they are, it is best to remove them so that you can enjoy the rest of the celery, either as a snack or as part of a dish.

  1. This cut should be about 3cm/1.1" in length.
  2. When the strings reach the cut, the will lift automatically.

      • Even though the strings are removed, you can easily stuff the inside with cream cheese or any other spreadable cheese.
      • Celery should be rinsed under cold running water to remove the grit from the root end.
      • Once the string is removed, diced celery makes an excellent addition to soups requiring a vegetable base. Celery is also excellent with salads, casseroles, fried rice and vegetable stuffings.
