Do you want to address a text to your email address? You can send a text to any email address by entering the email address into the "To" field in which you'd normally add a contact's name or number. This wikiHow article teaches you how to send a text message from your iPhone or Android phone to an email address.
Things You Should Know
- Open your Messages app on Android or iPhone, enter your email address in the "To" field, then send it to get the text as an email.
- You can only send texts as emails using the default texting apps that came on your phone. Don't use apps like Skype or Whatsapp to send your text to an email address.
- If you want to send an existing text message, tap and hold that message, then tap "Forward", enter your email address in the "To" field, then send it to get the text in your email.
Steps
-
Tap the "New Message" icon . It's in the top-right corner of the screen.
- If Messages opens to a conversation, first tap in the top-left corner of the screen.
