I often use the Random Article button to try to find something to do. What if we could put in a search term and hit a “Random” button and be given a random result!? I know I would use it!

Like google’s “I’m Feeling Lucky” tool. I like the idea.

I’ve been bashed over the head with more things than I can count, but it sounds like this idea is far more useful than anything that has caused me to have a headache. (Okay, very rarely does something hit me in the head.)

I’ve gotten hit with two frisbees, four baseballs, (It really hurt!) and a plastic golfball… I like the idea alot, and I don’t see anything bad it would cause. June Days

Everyone started to talk about what hit their head. Let’s keep this thread on topic. Ais5174, This does sound like a good idea, though.

then it’s not really random, now is it… just search for the word and pick a random link?

Agreed. However, I could see value in being able to look for a random article within a category or the ability to omit categories. By that I mean: - finding a random craft article or cooking article. - omitting categories that don’t interest you or apply to you.

@omniomi You can actually do that with this greenhouse: http://www.wikihow.com/Special:EditFinder/Topic Just pick out a category (or more than one) and it will spit out a random article in that subject area. And you can just keep flipping through them, just to read them, or edit here and there if you wish:slight_smile:

I bangud mi hed on mi keybord so mane tymes thet i broce my kebord.

It would be funnier if this thread hadn’t already come to sort of a close.

Ok, it was still pretty funny.
