I’ve been wanting to write an article but I’m not sure whether it would be deleted, it’s a " how to be like (insert name here) " article. The person in question is a YouTuber with 1.5 million subscribers and he’s fairly famous on YouTube but do you think he would be well known enough or would the article be considered a vanity article? I don’t want to write an article that’s likely to be taken down as it would be a waste of my wikiTime. The YouTubers name is " thesyndicateproject ".
I’ve heard of that YouTube channel. Minecraft-and-other-videogame-related stuff, right? As long as you keep quality well in mind, I, personally, think you can make and keep this article.
That’s right. Ok, I’ll wait and get some more feedback so I know if there’s a general feeling of agreement that the article is ok or whether you are being anti conformist LOL.
Considering thesyndicateproject has over one and a half million subscribers, I’d say that channel is famous enough not to count as a vanity article.
That’s what I thought but I kinda also felt that YouTubers aren’t as well known as other celebrities so I thought I’d check.

I am kind of 50/50 on wether you should write it or not, but I think you should put How to Be Like “username here” FROM YOUTUBE at the end.
I also mostly agree with ISMKW.
^ ok, that seems a good idea.
I agree with ISMKW as well as CiCi. I personally wouldn’t NFD it for vanity, because we know that at least 1.5 million people know about him. For me, vanity articles would be more like “How to Act Like My Best friend Ashley” or someone very little-known. Are there any other Admins who would like to share whether they’d NFD it or not?

I think you’d be OK, but I’d recommend you visit this reference page first: http://www.wikihow.com/Write
a Character Article (a “Be Like” Article) on wikiHow It covers most of the do’s and dont’s. I think most character / cosplay articles get tagged unless they are very clear how to achieve it.
@Pink_Star
@Nedifier
I wouldn’t write it at a “be like” title, because they usually get nfd|cha for simply having that prefix. This was decided because it was determined that you can’t “be like” somebody else. You can act like, or look like, but you can’t “be like” somebody else.
Ok, thanks for the tip @KernelPone
Even though I am not an admin, I’d like to offer my 2 cents
I would personally NFD the article for a few reasons–one, like @KernelPone
stated, we can’t have “be like” articles. Second, I would consider the article vanity because he is only “famous” on the internet. A good test for me to see if a person meets the article standards is this: Is there a wikipedia page on him/her? If there is, then the article is probably OK.
No there isn’t. I will probably take my chance as it’s divided but not be surprised if it gets deleted.
A vanity article is something that’s useful to only a small group of people. I personally haven’t heard of him, but if the guy has over 1.5 million subscribers, that’s probably fine and wouldn’t get nfd|van. It’s still a character article, so the quality of the content has to be good to avoid nfd|cha. What exactly are you writing about in terms of “How to Be Like”? ISMKW said he posts video game-related videos; is it something like “how to play Minecraft like [name]”?
I had a brief look at his channel and there are many videos about games. Maybe this title: “How to play [gamename] like [insert name here]”
If you can think of a way to make it into a how-to article then it should pass. Unfortunately I’m not thinking of any way to do this as writing about someone famous isn’t a how-to subject.
