Welcome to the latest wikiHaus Lab update! Here’s what’s happening for June 28th:

:rocket: What’s happening?Considering AI (Artificial Intelligence): Although we’re not using AI for article writing, we’re thinking about different ways we might be able to use or incorporate AI within the site. One possibility is an artificial chatbot or librarian that can help find you what you’re looking for on wikiHow. If you have any ideas of how we could potentially use AI and/or the ChatGPT API, let us know!

:rocket: You may have noticed:R2_d2000 helped create a new template page for Chromebook icons, as requested by the wikiHow Content Team. Now anyone is able to use the correct icons in Chromebook-related articles:slight_smile:Thanks R2! https://www.wikihow.com/Template:Chromebook

:rocket: You may have noticed:The new This or That game launched! It’s getting a great reception, so you may see it advertised around the site more, and it may even get a leaderboard in the future! Have you tried it out? wikiHow This or That

:rocket: Update:Article quizzes or “comprehension quizzes” are still doing really well so they’re continuing to expand into more articles.

Thanks, @R2_d2000 !!

I think the idea of an AI tool of some kind that helps readers find the article they are looking for would be super helpful. It may even eventually replace the search bar if it works well. I know many of us end up getting talk page messages with people asking where to find articles on certain topics, so there’s a demand for it!

I could see at some point down the road you could even ask a wikiHow AI a normal how to query and it serves you back a a high level summary, then offers to bring you to the article if you need more details.

There are different kinds of AI tools now besides Open AIs ChatGPT. One that can create art, create music, edit videos etc. Having one here is sure to peak the interest of readers and the community:slight_smile:
