Welcome to the final wikiHaus Lab update of 2023! Here’s what’s happening for December 20th:
What’s happening?“The Takeaway” section: The team is experimenting with a new section underneath steps that paraphrases the article with a ‘takeaway’ paragraph. The goal is to give readers a centralized place to digest the main points of the article without changing their experience at the top of the page. We’re also hoping that this section will help search engines showcase our articles in featured snippets within search results.

What’s happening?AI experiments: We’ve created an AI Astrologer that helps with your crushes! It’s currently available logged out under the steps on a few articles, like this one
, and it might become a standalone feature soon! The team is doing a lot of testing with AI technology and features (outside of article writing, of course), so I think we’ll see more in this area next year.
You may have noticed:Seymour Edits edits are now being autopatrolled: This has been a long time coming, but we’ve finally got SE autopatrolling, which means that RC Patrol won’t get backed up with their edits! If you notice anything unusual related to this in RC Patrol, please let me know.

Update:Trivia quizzes: There are some new fun trivia-based quizzes on the Quiz Hub

. We also have our first reader-created quizzes up on the hub!
Update:Tips section: Thanks for your feedback on the Tips Section changes from the last update
. We currently have a couple of wikiHowians working with wikiHaus staff to test out the new process and work on the project. If the project works out well, then we’ll look to add a new permission for others to edit these sections.
