I’ve seen that people usually use signs on their keyboard in an article, such as, instead of “percent” they use %. Which one should users use?

People should generally use the common signs (%,£,$,*,@,~,)etc in articles, but using in headings can cause problems on some older systems.

Should they use “&” or “and”?

Hi @Hailey Girges, I agree with @IGriffiths - in the articles’ texts you can use the characters incl. “&” but not in the titles. It does make sense. One of the reasons is: people search an article by the title, and using a character can cause a problem in searching .

It is advised you use the word form because the sign usually causes many problems. Moreover, article titles should never contain such signs unless very necessary (like Yahoo!)

Hi guys, @Shinako and @Hailey Girges , when formatting an article I made a little discovery about a “&” sign. When an author used a sign “&” instead of a word “and” in the ingrediends, for example Salt & Pepper to season, the second part that goes after the “&” sign was totally trancated when I previewed. It came out as “Salt” only.

^Yep, happened with me too.

@Hailey Girges … some info for you regarding “&”. Pls see my and Shinako’s posts above.
