How to Build Trees in Minecraft

If you are obsessive about your trees or you just don't like the "default" trees in Minecraft, you can either destroy them, or you can rebuild them in a perfect (and identical) shape. It's best to just remove the entire tree (excluding the first log) unless you are playing survival mode.

Start from a flat surface and stack six logs on top of each other.

To obtain leaf blocks in survival mode, you must break the leaf with shears or a tool enchanted with Silk Touch. Otherwise, it will not drop. If you break the leaves with your hand (or a tool without Silk Touch), saplings may drop.
