QuickTime Player is the default media player on Mac computers, but what if you want to switch things up and use a different media player? We'll show you how to set a media player software as the default player option for a media format on your Mac.

Changing the Default Video Player on Mac

  1. Right-click a video file and select Get Info .
  2. Click the arrow next to Open with .
  3. Click the current default player to open a dropdown list.
  4. Scroll down the list to click your desired default.
  5. Select Change All .
