Unlike in NFS: Hot Pursuit, one cannot play as the police in either versions of NFS: Most Wanted (2005 and 2012). This, however, does not mean that you can’t experience the thrill of driving in a cop car in the game. Using a novel cheat called Most Wanted Car Changer that is freely available for download from the Internet, you can drive any cop car in MW 2012, including the SWAT truck, in both single and multiplayer game modes.
Steps
-
Click the green “Download” button. This will download the MostWantedCarChanger.exe file onto your computer.Advertisement
-
Run the Most Wanted Car Changer. Once the download is complete, go to your Downloads folder (for Windows, this is usually C:\Users\<User Name>\Downloads\). Find the exe file from the previous step and open it by double-clicking on it.
-
Click the horizontal bar at the top right corner of the car changer window. This will minimize the car changer app so you can launch the NFS game.
- Remember that Most Wanted Car Changer must be running as you play the game so you can get the cop cars.

Launch the game. You can launch the game from the Start menu (Start button >> All Programs >> Electronic Arts >> Need for Speed Most Wanted) or from the desktop by double-clicking its icon.
- The game will launch directly into the game world, resuming your racing career from where you last stopped.
-
Press the combination Alt + Enter on your keyboard. This will put NFS: MW in window mode, allowing you to use the mouse and the minimize button to switch between the game and the Most Wanted Car Changer application. [1] X Research source
-
Click the Most Wanted Car Changer application. Since you minimized the program, it should be on your taskbar.
-
Click the down arrow next to “Select car. ” A list containing all the cars in NFS: MW will appear.
-
Choose a cop car from the list. Vehicles on the list are displayed alphabetically, and with the exception of the SWAT truck, all cop cars are listed under “C” and are preceded by the word “Cop.” The cop cars available in MW 2012 are:
- Cop Chevrolet Corvette Z06
- Cop Dodge Charger SRT8
- Cop Ford Crown Victoria
- Cop Ford Explorer
- S.W.A.T.
-
Click the “Freeze” button. This will confirm your selection.
-
Click the NFS: MW window to return to the game. Now you can change the car you are currently driving to the cop car you selected in the Car Changer.
-
Crash the car you are driving. To do this, drive very fast (Up Arrow key to accelerate, Left and Right Arrow keys to steer left and right respectively) and hit another vehicle, or a wall, hard.
- After the crash, you will respawn in the cop car you selected.
-
Try out a different cop car. Switch to the Most Wanted Car Changer application again by clicking its tab. Select a different cop car from the list, go back to game, and crash your current car to respawn in the cop car you selected.
