This wikiHow teaches you how to lend a Kindle eBook from your Amazon account to another Kindle user. Keep in mind that not all eBooks can be lent; similarly, you must lend the book from your Amazon account's "Manage Your Content and Devices" page or the book's product details page, not from your Kindle itself.

Lending a Kindle Book to Someone

  • Sign in to Amazon and go to “Accounts and Lists.”
  • Click “Content Library” and find the book you want to lend.
  • Press “Loan this title” and enter the person’s email address.

      Tips

      • Each Kindle book can only be loaned one time. Make sure that you loan your book to a reader who plans on reading the book within the 14-day time period.
      • If your friend does not accept your loan request within seven days, the book will be returned to your digital library and you will have the option to loan the book again in the future.

      Warnings

      • As the lender, you will not have the ability to read the book while it is being loaned to another reader until either the 14-day loan period expires or until the reader removes the book from their digital library.
      • Some publishers are eligible to opt out of the lending program, so not all books you purchase for your Kindle may be available for loaning to other readers. [1]
