Because you have to cross into another lane, making a left turn may seem tricky or confusing. But it’s actually quite simple if you follow the proper steps so you can do it safely. Always use your turn signal and obey traffic lights and signs. If there are any oncoming cars or pedestrians crossing the street, let them go first to avoid any potential accidents.

Put on your left turn signal 100 feet (30 m) from the turn. As you approach the turn, push the lever on the left side of your steering wheel down to put on the turn signal.
