Remember that exercising is a habit, not a one-time goal. Sometimes you're not going to feel motivated, but you just have to push through and do the workout, and you'll feel so much better afterward. After a while, you'll build a routine, and exercising will just come naturally.
  • Question
What if I had initial motivation, but it's running out?
    Community Answer
"Motivation" is a cute buzzword to get people jazzed up. You need dedication. Dedication is doing what you need to do whether you want to or not because you know it needs to be done.
  • Question
Is it okay if I just exercise at home?
    Community Answer
Yes! In fact, that saves money and is very convenient.
  • Question
How can I motivate myself to work out after months of not exercising?
    Community Answer
Watch free workout routines on YouTube for motivation. You could also keep your exercise clothes, gear, and a water bottle out where you'll see them daily to remind you to fit your workout into your day.
  • Question
Is it okay to work out when I'm on my period?
    Community Answer
Yes, it's perfectly fine, and many people find it actually helps to improve cramps and other symptoms. Start out with some gentle stretching and yoga and see how that goes before moving on to something more strenuous.
  • Question
What if I'm on a busy work schedule and I really feel like I should work out, but am too busy?

A good workout doesn't have to be 30 minutes to an hour long. It can be five minutes and, if you sit at your job a lot, you could maybe get up every so often and stretch.
  • Question
What can I do to keep up my fitness if I am physically handicapped?
    Community Answer
It depends on your specific situation. If you have no use of your legs, try doing upper-body workouts. If you have no use of your arms, try jogging, mountain climbers, etc. Those will still keep your upper-body fit. If you're not sure what is/isn't safe, talk to your doctor, physical therapist, etc.
  • Question
What if I can't afford workout gear, even though it does help me get motivated?
    Community Answer
You could find other ways to motivate yourself. Get a yoga mat for floor exercises. Maybe treat yourself to a light snack or nap afterwards.
