  • Question
Do you have to register with the state?
    Community Answer
If you are just running a small, local club, you shouldn't need to register with the state. If you start hosting events and bringing in money in one way or another, that's where you probably need to become either a non-profit or a small business.
  • Question
    Should I have everybody's address?
    Community Answer
It would be a good idea to have everyone fill out a contact card that might include phone numbers emails, but addresses are probably not necessary.
  • Question
Should I have a contract to sign?
    Community Answer
If you have a defined mission statement and clearly-defined rules in writing as part of your publications, such as your website or flyers/promos, then there would be no need to have a signed contract. In fact, signing a contract may frighten potential good members away.
  • Question
I want to make a new name for my club, how can I know if other car clubs have the same name?
    Community Answer
You can search online and see if you get any hits on the name you want. If you don't find something online, you are probably safe to use the name. If the club is not officially registered anywhere, there's no way for you to know if they are using the name already.
  • Question
