Check the profile picture of the person you unblocked. If it has no profile or does not match the recipient's profile picture, it is still blocked. You need the blocked person to send a message to you and you send a message to them.

My boss says that I have blocked one of their numbers, yet there are no blocked numbers in my phone. Could it still be blocked on my previous broken phone?

Blocked numbers are usually stored on your Google account and therefore synched across devices. As long as the two devices have the same Google account, the blocked numbers will be the same. If the devices have different Google accounts, the number blocked on the old device should not affect the new one.

To unblock someone on your Cricket phone, open the Phone app, tap the three dots (menu icon) in the top-right corner, and select Settings. Look for Blocked numbers or Call blocking. Find the number you want to unblock and tap Unblock. This will allow the person to call and message you again.
