Most Sperrys have leather laces and are notoriously difficult to tie tightly. You may find that a normal shoelace knot is not enough to keep the leather shoelaces from coming loose. While the most common knot to use on Sperrys is the barrel knot, also known as a sailor's knot, there are several other ways to tie Sperrys. Try a tassel knot, a chain knot, or a surgeon’s knot. You could even create a fishtail pattern with your laces!
