Welcome to the latest wikiHaus Lab update! Here’s what’s happening for May 19th:

:rocket: What’s happening?We were selected as a finalist in Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas competition for our free course on How to Fight Misinformation Online! This is the course that we created in partnership with UN Verified. Being selected as a finalist means that we’ve been recognized as a longstanding, trailblazing organization at the forefront of world-changing innovation for the good of society and the planet - wow! If you haven’t taken the course yet, feel free to check it out here !

:rocket: What’s happening?You may notice more articles being moved over to different wikiHow domains. The data team is doing an audit on the main site and looking at articles that aren’t reaching many readers each month. The goal is to move these articles to an alternative domain, instead of demoting them, so they’re still available to anyone who is searching for that particular topic.

The majority of people find wikiHow articles from Google, so we are hopeful this movement will put these articles in the best spot to still reach everyone that needs it. So, you may notice more articles on other sites like wikihow.fitness, wikihow-fun.com , or wikihow.tech, for example.

As always, anyone logged in will be able to access and edit these articles on the main site, and anyone logged out will simply be redirected to the specialized site. If you have any questions about an article that gets moved, just let me know! Additionally, if you know of any articles you think may be better on an alt domain, send it my way!

:rocket: What’s happening?Testing shorter section headers. Thanks to SkiC for spotting this one . The team is testing out using more succinct section headers which are easier to scan and pick up on quickly. We’re hoping small tweaks like this will make it easier for readers to know they’re in the right place.
