Welcome to the latest wikiHaus Lab update! Here’s what’s happening for October 27th:
What’s happening? The team is working on a new version of the Train Your Brain game focusing on English as a Second Language. They’re hoping to have that launch within the next couple of weeks.
What’s happening? We’ve started featuring some of our quizzes on Instagram to help spread the word and get more people to check out our quizzes. We also added an Explore All Quizzes button on the right side of single quizzes on large screens.
You may have noticed:The new “Staff Member” badge for user pages is here! Sarah, our newest engineer, has implemented this for us. Thanks to @Rupert28
for the suggestion!

You may have noticed:When a reader votes on the Helpfulness of a Q&A question, we now show a message suggesting they try our quizzes or brain game:
Do you have any ideas on how we can encourage readers to stick around and check out other pages on wikiHow?

Is the bug where the “Join us in our mission” banner pops up every time you navigate to a new page going to be fixed soon? Because I would find that really
annoying as a reader and I think that it would discourage people from staying on the site for too long. It should go away and stay away when you click on the x button.

Great connection @R2_d2000
. I see there’s a fresh note about this in the filed bugs, so
I like the staff badges, I especially think it will be useful for new users. Maybe It’s just me, but I do think the fact there are two green badges is slightly confusing. The shades are slightly different, but initially I didn’t even notice the new badge. It’s not important, and it’s just my opinion, but I think the new badge would look better in another colour? That being said, I really like the idea and the icon on the badge. I remember when I first joined wikiHow and I had trouble identifying who is and isn’t a member of staff.
