Edit your current region in Chrome
Is your location wrong in Google Chrome? You can change your search region in Google Search using your settings, developer tools, or a VPN. You can also edit your location permissions. Here's how to change your location in Google Chrome.
Quick Steps
- Go to https://www.google.com/ .
- Click Settings .
- Click Search settings > Other settings .
- Click Language & region > Results region .
- Select a new region.
- Click Confirm .

Go to https://www.google.com/ in Chrome. You can change your region in Google's search settings.
- If you don't set the location yourself, it will automatically detect your location based on your IP address.

Click Settings . This is at the very bottom of the page, next to Privacy and Terms .
- A pop-up menu will open.

Click Search settings . This is the first option.

Click Other settings . You can find this in the left panel.

Click Language & region . This is at the top of the page, under the Language header.

Click Results region . This is the bottom option.

Select a new region and click Confirm . You can scroll down to view the regions in alphabetical order or use the search bar.
- When you use Google Search , your results will be based on your new region.

Click More tools . You can find this at the bottom of the pop-up menu.

Click Developer tools . A new window will open.

Click Sensors . If you don't see this tab, click â‹® in the top-right corner of the developer window > More tools > Sensors .

Click the "Location" drop-down menu. This is in the Sensors tab.

Select a new location. You'll see a few presets here.
- To add another location, click Manage > Add location > enter GPS coordinates > Add .

Enable your VPN. You can download a VPN application to your computer or add an extension to Google Chrome.
- Some popular VPN services include Proton VPN, NordVPN, and Norton VPN.

Change your VPN location. Generally, you'll see this option in the VPN settings. You can usually set your VPN to a certain country's servers.

Click Site settings . You can find this at the bottom.

Click Location . A new page will open.

Select "Don't allow sites to see your location". This is the second option.
- If you previously denied access to a website, you'll see it listed underneath Not allowed to see your location .
