The preppy style is often associated with brighter colors, but you should focus more on wearing colors that flatter your skin tone. To figure out what colors work best for you, get a strip of silver fabric, and a strip of gold fabric. Lay the strips down on opposite shoulders and then cross your arms to put a hand over each strip. Notice which hand looks smoother. The fabric color underneath your smoother-looking indicates whether your skin works better with cooler or warmer colors!
