  • Question
Do I have to cast a circle when casting spells?
    Community Answer
Not always. Casting a circle can get you in the mindset for the spell or add an extra protective layer to it, but you don't have to do it for every spell. Typically, circle casting is for bigger rituals. If you are just making a sigil or are doing a small spell, you don't have to cast a circle.
  • Question
How do I come out of the circle?
    Community Answer
You can open the circle and close the circle at your will. Just say something like 'I open this circle', step out, then say 'I close this circle' and go on with what you wanted to do with your circle. Do not dismiss the circle, for all the energy you raised will be lost.
  • Question
Can you be Wiccan is you've been baptized?
    Community Answer
While Christian Wicca is an option, it is a topic of controversy among the Pagan community. However, if you don't believe in Christianity and don't use it in your practice, it doesn't matter if you are baptized or not.
  • Question
Where can I learn more about Wicca?
    Community Answer
On the Internet there is a lot of information, but don't blindly trust everything. Searching for a mentor or a coven is your best source.
  • Question
Do I need a deity? How would my spell work without one?
    Community Answer
I have worked with and without deities. You do not need one as all you really need is yourself and your will, but I have found that working with deities has helped increase the results of my works. Working without one, you have to feel the power coming from your heart and soul or from the world around you. Nothing is wrong with either approach.
  • Question
I don't believe in The Goddess. Can I still cast a circle?
    Community Answer
It doesn't really matter what you believe in. As long as the intention is right, anyone can cast a circle.
  • Question
Why should you not call upon a deity of love? Why not cast a spell regarding love as long as you don't harm anyone or interfere in free will?
    Community Answer
That's two different questions! You can cast a spell without needing to involve a deity. Remember that deities, even if they were once human, are very different from us and have their own needs and wants. Are you already sincerely devoted to Aphrodite (for example), or did you just pick Her name off a list of gods of love? (The first one will get better results.) Many traditions honor ancestors and spirits of place (like the spirit of a river that flows nearby) as well as deities. Just cast the spell and leave open the possibility of any one of these spirits or powers being the one to answer. If a deity answers, you will know, possibly with a bigger impact or cost than you were prepared for!
  • Question
If I'm casting a spell about love, what deity should I summon?
    Community Answer
Its not the best idea to try a love spell, as those can sometimes go wrong. But of you still want to, try Venus, Aphrodite, or Freya.
  • Question
How exactly do I cast in reverse to close the spell? Silly question maybe but it is unclear to me.
    Community Answer
Instead of walking deosil (clockwise) three times around the circle, walk widdershins (counterclockwise) three times around the circle. Visualisation is the most important thing, so when casting the circle, visualise a white string coming out of your wand, and when you close it, visualise the string going back into your wand.
  • Question
How can I nurture my inner witch?
    Community Answer
You should ask for guidance on your path by consulting a guardian or deity. Reconnecting with nature reading literature on Wicca is also helpful in broadening your knowledge. However, don't make progress for the sake of making progress. You don't have to become "more of a witch" to be a "good Wiccan."
  • Question
How many circles do I need to cast if I intend to summon a deity?
    Community Answer
You will need just one circle. Also, avoid summoning any deity with relations to war, trickery, or love.
  • Question
What type of circle do I cast when harvesting a wand?
    Community Answer
Ask the tree if harvesting it from a live tree if you may harvest from it and wait for the tree to answer by giving you a good feeling. If you get a negative feeling then the tree has said no. When crafting a wand use a creation circle which is simply a circle where you ask for inspiration, creativity, and ingenuity to fill the circle. If you ask for a deity to enter call one of craftsmanship, creation, art, or inspiration. The muses are good ones for inspiration.
  • Question
If I cast a circle outdoors, what happens if an animal runs through it while I am performing the spell?
    Community Answer
The animal will not break the circle or affect the spell. If it is your familiar (guide animal), consider it a sign of blessing.
  • Question
    Is this not dangerous?
    Community Answer

  • Question
Where can I find someone to talk to about magic?
    Community Answer

  • Question
I am 16 and newly interested in Wicca. My choice to not be a Christian has displeased my family. I live in a small town and judgmental. How can I pursue the practice of Wicca?
    Community Answer
You need to keep a low profile and make the best for yourself so you can leave. Don't provoke anyone, try to get people to forget if they know and are mad. You'll find other Pagans, it's a matter of time; in the meanwhile, focus on making sure you'll have the money and education you need to get out of there. Be kind to yourself, and remember, even when you can't hold ritual or celebrate a Sabbat, just being alive, hearing the wind and seeing the sky is already deeply sacred, and Pagan. Learn about Paganism, pick the ways that feel best and truest, and trust yourself. Keep safe!
  • Question
How can I found a coven as a beginner?
    Community Answer
Most covens only invite Wiccans if they have passed a year and a day of learning, and its quite hard to find out because they don't talk about it much. If you want to start your own, try advertising it on the internet.
  • Question
Would I have to offer anyone's blood for rituals and offerings?
    Community Answer
No! Do not hurt anyone for a ritual or an offering. Wicca is all about not hurting others, and offerings are usually things like food, drinks or some type of home-crafted item to show respect to the ones you worship.

    Community Answer
Magic with darkness is magic with mystery. If you work with circle casting, this is the most important time to do it. But as always, and especially in darker crafts, you should do as you feel is right. Simply remember to take all the precautions necessary in dealing with the unknown under any form.

The way to cast a circle doesn't depend on the type of ritual so much as on the person and their tradition and preference. So you should be fine doing it this way if the instructions suit you.

    Community Answer
If you wish to become rich by magick, start small and build. For instance, request that the spirits help you to get a promotion then visualize it and feel it inside you until you feel it in your very being. Repeat the visualizing daily as it strengthens the vibration in the aura. Then, once you've obtained your goal, rinse and repeat until you have reached a satisfying result.
  • Question
What deity should I use for a money spell?
    Community Answer
Since deities aren't "used" but rather "solicited," you should work with a deity you feel attuned to. I could recommend addressing Aphrodite, Mammon, Freyr, or even Lucifer, but you definitely only should involve a god if you know them.
