Add species that make sense for the environment of your planet. For example, if your planet is an ice planet, then your species might have strong, thicker skin and higher body temperatures, and bigger eyes, since the sun is weaker and sending out less light.

    Community Answer
Try to make your own language using other languages. Maybe you want to use Elvish and Spanish together, combined with some Italian. Don't be afraid to use new, bold words for your characters.
  • Question
Are there any good tools out there where I can document this all and maybe draw the maps?
    Community Answer
World Anvil is a great place to start with documenting everything. As for making maps, search online for fractal map generators. There's one that works in-browser and has lots of options. I can't remember the name of it, but I used it for my world. You can even draw the landmasses instead of just generating them. Both World Anvil and the map generator are free.
  • Question
How can I come up with some ideas for what my fictional planet should look like?
    Community Answer
If you're trying to imagine what your world's landmasses might look like, try fractal map generators and keep one that looks right. Some generators even have an option to show the map as a globe, so you can visualize what the planet itself would look like. There are many free in-browser fractal generators.
