You're of course going to want to focus on a darker color palette. I'd also suggest looking for pieces that have more creative or interesting elements. Clothing that's predominantly black but also has creative distressing, rips, tears, leather accents, or chain studding will help create a goth look.

A good place to start would be to look at the male fashion inspirations from the early post-punk days, though a lot of what they wear might be better in a club. Goth men from those days were not afraid to cross dress or experiment, as they would also wear make-up, nail polish, etc.

To be honest, the same as the women’s because everyone looks good with shaved, crimped, teased, or back-combed; dyed black hair. Deathhawks are always a popular option and not necessarily in black. Essentially, the goal was to get the hair as big and as fluffy using hairspray as much as possible.
