    Community Answer
To freak out their friends, or simply because they can.
  • Question
Why does it hurt my eyes every time I flip them inside out?
    Community Answer
Your eyes and eye lids might not be used to being flipped like that. If it keeps hurting you, stop doing it, as you could be damaging your eyes.

This is a very risky thing to do, you can lose your sight. Do it very gently.

If you do it too frequently, maybe. But if you just do it on occasion, it's not going to cause any serious damage.
  • Question
What if my eyelash pokes my eyeball?

Wash your eye out with warm water, and if that doesn’t work seek medical attention or ask your mom to help with some tweezers.
  • Question
What percentage of people could already do this without this tutorial?
    YURI
    Community Answer
More than 10% of the total population. Many learnt this from friends in their school days. There are also lots of tutorials on platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
  • Question
Why does the outside of my eyelid burn after I do this?
    Community Answer
Because your eyelid is dry and rubbing against your eyeball. Also, your fingers may have introduced oil, dirt and other impurities into your eye. Those are just two of the reasons doing this is a really bad idea.
  • Question
I have trouble flipping my lids. My eye naturally holds them back. What can I do?
    YURI
    Community Answer
Some eyelids are more flexible than others, this makes flipping it little bit harder for some people. And if it keeps going back to natural position after getting it flipped for few seconds, it is probably the eyes not used to the position, you can hold it with your hands to keep it flipped if you need to. The more you do, it gets more adapted to the eyes and it will probably stay longer, so practice helps (even though I don't suggest doing this on regular basis as it may harm your eyes).
  • Question
Will your eyelid actually get stuck?
    YURI
    Community Answer
No, it will automatically go into normal position. Some people can let it stay flipped for a long period of time, but that is because of their eyelids compatibility to flipping it. But it won't get stuck forever.
  • Question
Can you do this when you have monolids?
    YURI
    Community Answer
Yes, all types of eyelids can do it. Staying like that long or how much part of the inner eyelids shows off might be different though with different eyelids.
  • Question
What happens if I pull on my eyelid?
    YURI
    Community Answer
If you grab only your eyelashes then the lashes might got plucked. If you have a strong grab of the eyelids then nothing will happen, it will be same as shown in 1st image of this how-to article.
  • Question
Is getting hurt by doing this a rare occurrence?
    YURI
    Community Answer
This doesn't hurt the eye, even though it makes the eye feel a little discomfort if done for long. The only time it hurts is when the hand touches the eyeball, nails scratch the eyelid, or the eyelashes get plucked accidentally.
