Take 1/4 cup of flour and 1/8 cup of salt and thoroughly combine in a small bowl with a fork. If you want to color the mixture, use a separate bowl to combine 1/8 cup of water and a few drops of acrylic paint or food coloring. Combine the water and flour/salt mixture. Stir with a fork until consistency becomes too thick to stir, than knead with your hands. There may be a bit of leftover flour/salt mix. If your mixture is too dry add in more water 1 tsp at a time. If the mixture is too wet, add more flour. Finished consistency should be similar to Play-Doh. Acrylic paint will not stain, but food coloring might, so use caution around light fabrics.
