Change in temperature causes condensation. It doesn’t have anything to do with the vodka itself; it’s where it is being stored.
  • Question
Does fruit flavored vodka need to be refrigerated?
    Community Answer
No, there's so much alcohol in it that it kills any bacteria that would make it go bad. Although vodka tastes better refrigerated, in my opinion.
  • Question
Can I store vodka in a cabinet after it has been refrigerated?
    Community Answer
Yes, it will be fine, though you'll want to allow the bottle to come to room temperature first and wipe off any condensation that forms on the bottle to preserve the finish of your cabinet.
  • Question
How long until vodka breaks down in original plastic bottles versus in glass bottles?
    Community Answer
Distilled spirits do not 'break down.'
  • Question
My garage gets into the 90s in summer where my vodka is stored. Good or bad?
    Community Answer
It's fine, as long as the vodka isn't being stored there for years. As the article says, extreme temperature fluctuations can affect the taste of the vodka.
  • Question
Does whiskey lose alcohol content if stored in the freezer?
    Community Answer
    No, it does not.
  • Question
Should I refrigerate or freeze vodka once the vodka is removed from the refrigerator?
    Community Answer
You can if you like to drink it cold, but it's not necessary. The alcohol in vodka preserves it.
  • Question
If I store vodka in my freezer, do I lay it on its side or put it upright?
    Community Answer
Lay it upright because you don't really freeze the vodka fully, only some will ice, leaving most of it as liquid. And it can leak if it is laid on the side.
