It means that your message was sent, but not yet delivered. If it remains on the "s", then it most likely means that the user's phone is shut off or has been disconnected for a while. The "d" means it has been delivered, and the "r" means received (or read).

Can people see my mobile number on Kik?

No. Your mobile number is only used privately by Kik to notify your friends that you have a Kik profile. The first time they open Kik, the program will ask them if they want to find their friends. If they agree to this, Kik will use the names, phone numbers, and email addresses in their phone's contact list in order to find anyone they know using Kik. But Kik will use your phone number exclusively for this, and other users won't be able to see the number.
