RSVP comes from the French phrase "répondez s'il vous plaît," which in English translates to "please reply." When invited to a social event, it is proper etiquette to respond promptly, politely, and via the same way one has invited you.     • If you receive a blank RSVP card, simply mimic the template used in standard RSVP cards. State your name in the third person, whether you will attend, and include the date of the wedding. Remember to use formal wording.
