Did someone post an amazing Story on Instagram that you want to repost? Fortunately, it's quick and easy to repost a Story you've been tagged in. If you weren't tagged in the Story, there are still options.

Reposting a Story on Instagram

If you were tagged in the story, tap Add to Story on the Story to repost it. If you weren't tagged, you can use a tool like Repost It, or just take a screenshot or screen recording of the original Story and upload the photo or video to your own Story.

  1. When someone tags you in a Story, you'll get a notification that redirects you to a DM with that person so you can see the Story. Tap the notification or the message in your inbox to open it.
  2. It's above the Story in the DM.
    • You can also add text , links , GIFs, and more to the Story before posting.

  3. You can also choose "Close friends" or "Send to" if you don't want to share the Story with everyone who follows you.

  1. If you aren't tagged, you can capture a screenshot if the story is a photo, or a screen recording if it's a video. You can then share the photo or video on your Story.
    • Make sure you have permission to post a Story you weren't tagged in, and be sure to credit the original poster. If you don’t have permission, your Story could be taken down by Instagram for copyright infringement . [1]
  2. You can get the mobile app for free from the Google Play Store for Android and App Store for iPhone or iPad. Alternatively, you can go to https://repostapp.com in your web browser.
    • The Story must be public for Repost It to work. It won't be able to repost a Story from a private account.
    • To repost a Story, you need to get the link to the original Story. Tap the Sharing icon (the paper airplane) at the bottom of the Story, then tap Copy Link to copy it. You can then paste the link into the Repost tool to share it. [2]
