-
Open a post. Find the post on which you want to leave a quote, then click the post's title to open the post.Advertisement
-
Find the comment you want to quote. Scroll down until you find the comment from which you want to post a quote.
- If you want to quote the original post's content, you'll find it at the top of the thread.
-
Select the section you want to quote. Click and drag your mouse cursor across the comment or content you want to quote to select it.
-
Copy the selection. Press either Ctrl + C (Windows) or ⌘ Command + C (Mac) to do so.
-
Click the "Quotation" icon. It's a set of quotes (") below the "Comment as" text box. Doing this creates a quote block, which resembles a vertical grey line, in the text box.
- If you want to reply to a comment, you'll first click Reply below the comment.
-
Paste in your copied selection. Press Ctrl + V (Windows) or ⌘ Command + V (Mac) to do so. You should see the copied quote appear to the right of the quote block.
-
Close the quote block. Press ↵ Enter to start a new line, then press ← Backspace once to get rid of the quote formatting.
-
Add your response text. Type in whatever you want to say in response to the quote below the quote itself.
-
Click COMMENT . It's a dark-blue button in the lower-right side of the text box. Doing so posts your quote and comment.
- If you're replying to a comment, you'll instead click REPLY below the text box.
