http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/comment/98491/ So if you guys can recall, Teresa ( @Ttrimm ) had this idea to post what we were during in August 2012 and some goals we’d like to achieve in one year. Now that it’s 2013, find your post and see how much you’ve changed!

August 2013: - Over 14,000 edits - Became a full admin on December 2012 - 15 articles written (goal not met) - Haven’t copyedited articles lately (goal not met) - Sticks with RCP, NAB, NFD Guardian (goal not met) - Yes, I’ve met a lot of new people - Yes, I’m more active on the forums - Yes, I graduated high school but I changed my post-secondary program - Turning 18 next week - My foot has improved more than last year and I’m able to run longer - No, my ICD has not shocked yet:slight_smile:

w00t.

August 2013 goals to August 2014 - Continuing to not care for the world about my wikiHow stats. - Continuing to hunt down low quality in Google results/search. - Continuing to help out with non-English wikiHows on a regular basis. - Get my redirect list project done?

My goals last year - * I make an average of not enough edits a day and need to get back to doing more * Before next year I better’ve finished the NABber test * A *lot* of people on here are great and awesome friends * I’ll be a booster next year * I’ll be able to attend another meetup.:smiley::smiley:AND NOW - 1) Glad to be editing a bit more:slight_smile:2) Nope, still never finished it! 3) That still rings true. 4) Not yet! 5) Nope.

Here is what I wrote last year about my predictions for Aug 2013. * Means I wrote this prediction in Aug 2012. * I’m starting to think about how wikiHow could best display on Google Glass or other wearable computers. Yes! I’m doing this. I have a pair of Google Glass and think about how wikIHow could be in there daily. * I will have announced on the forums that wikiHow now gets more readers on mobile devices than laptops + desktops. Oh so close. We are now at 49% mobile, 51% desktop. I’m now predicting we will be majority mobile within 1-2 months. * I will be so happy to report on the forums that a yet another wikiHow language now gets over 1 million readers a month. (Right now only English and Spanish do.) Not quite yet, but Italian is very, very close at 879,000. Hopefully it gets to 1 MM within a few months. * I will be amazed at how far Hindi wikiHow has come in 1 year and thank @IamSH and @Gaurang.prasad for their incredible contribution to our mission. I continue to be awed by Hindi wikiHow.* I will have tweeted that wikiHow now gets more visitors from Pinterest than Facebook. I think I did that several months ago! Pinterest was crushing Facebook for us. But Facebook has clawed it’s way back and now delivers us more traffic than Pinterest. It’s all good:slight_smile:* I will have tried to write our 150,000th article, but will have been beaten to it by @Maluniu . Her article will become a FA and contain beautiful photos she took. Mine will be about something on the computer and contain some nice screenshots. It will receive a rising star (I hope!). It actually turns out that @JuneDays beat me to this! Here was her 150,000 article submission: http://www.wikihow.com/Direct-Readers’-Theatre * I will attend my first wikiHow meetup that doesn’t take place in North America. It will be awesome to meet people who I’ve known online only for years. That said it will be sad to attend a meetup that doesn’t include @Loiswade42 making crafts at some point. Yes! The London meetup happened! And it was so awesome that we have another London meetup planned for Aug 2014. * My editing stats won’t be that much better than they are today, but I’ll have rolled out at least 1-2 features or elements of wikiHow that will help us make significant progress towards our mission. I’ll also have worked on several features that flopped or accidentally hurt our quality and were later removed from the site. I think this is mostly true:slight_smile:* We will be closer to achieving our ambitious mission. We will have more articles with the quality levels we want and we will have more readers learning more things from us. I personally think our quality is much higher than we had a year ago. We are on track! * I’ll continue to be proud every day for what wikiHowians have built and shared with the world. I’m still in awe every day of what we are accomplishing here. We are collectively amazing!

Here goes: * I am averaging about 5-6 hours a day on wikiHow ** That stays the same, or slightly less due to work:frowning:* I have crossed the 85,000 boost milestone ** At over 110,000 boosted * I am trying to improve my photography and writing a bunch of articles towards that ** Continuing to write and learn about photography…when I grow up, I want to be @LewisCollard ! * I weigh 230 pounds, but hope to be to 160 by next year (I am tall, so it isn’t as bad as it sounds) ** (total fail here) Still at 230 * I have been boosting for 4 years and continue to be consistent and fairly decent at it. People say they don’t know how I do it…I don’t know either! ** Still boosting and still enjoying it! /me needs to write a better time capsule post!!!

In 5 months, my goals have or haven’t been reached: * Become a Booster and boost new articles **Yes! Boosting away and enjoying it! * Patrolling recent changes **Yes, some now, but not as much as I used to * Will have written over 100 articles **Yes - up to 150 now! * Participating more in the forums ** Nope, I only check the forums a bit…don’t have much time for that. Sorry:frowning:* Expanding stubs and formatting articles ** Not really, now I pretty much just boost, do other types of editing and greet new contributors

I didn’t post my goals on that thread, but I know some of them were: Become an Admin/NAB Yes, on the admin part - Still working on NAB! (: Get another barnstar Yes; gotten four (Wow what!) Make over 10,000 contributions Believe I’ve done that! =D Patrol over 100,000 edits Not yet; but I’m only a few thousand away! (: Write a featured article Done! Write 100 articles_Done!_May I suggest we make goals for August 2014 and post 'em? =P June Days

I think that would be great!!! Give it its own thread so we can find it next year.

Goals for August '14 *Boost over 2000 articles *Write 200 or over articles *Have written 3 or more featured articles *Get another Barnstar (I’ve gotten 2 so far) *Make over 10,000 contributions *Write more software articles *Be more active on the forums *Patrol even more recent changes *Welcome and help more new users
