I can’t possibly believe it could be that time again, one year later. It’s time for the Time capsule post. A bunch of years ago by a  very talented user, this user started this type of post. It was meant to share how many of your goals were completed and what goals you have for the upcoming year.

Last year’s thread was posted:  http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/17186/wikihow-time-capsule-2015#latest so that you can tell if you’ve reached your goals.

Please share your goals for the upcoming year.

I’ll start off.

My goals last year for this past year included

1.)Create an article somewhere in the range of 850 to 1000. I’m right now in the 770 range and would like to be within that number between now and Christmas this year.

2.)Update screenshots to the new “green design” of articles dealing with the site. In the past, I only gave consideration to the article’s I’ve started and gave little consideration to those having screenshots already.

3.)Help on a few other merges. With the help of other spreadsheets I was given access to from other forum threads on this issue, I’ve helped reduce the number by a bunch, and would like to reduce those that have incorrectly placed templates. I’d like to drive that one side down to few, along with at least 1 or 2 of those that have accurately-placed templates.

4.)Attend another wikiHow meetup.

5.)Become a Welcome Wagon user.

6.)Help work on expanding the wikiDictionary (much like  @Alabaster  thoughtful expansion).

7.)Although my own personal pet project I’ve mentioned to only a select group, I’d like to start another project. Although I’ve called my personal pet project the “Theme Park creation Project”, I’d like to start it publicly.  More details to come, as soon as I can start this one (after I do the research and such. I’d highly doubt there would be others, but to comply with policy, I’ll check!).

For the record, in the past year, I’ve completed item 1, 4,6, and got a start to 7, but otherwise I couldn’t get past much. Therefore, I hold myself to try and complete these goals for the 2017 Time Capsule next year.

I’d like to add an Eighth one to try and complete for next year, but much like creating a project devoted to creating articles about theme parks…

8.) Begin a Project about creating articles for having people become fans of TV Game Shows of all sorts…

We’ll see how all these come out to, next year.

One of my other personal Time Capsule goals was to begin the newest year’s Time Capsule forums post, which, as you see, I was able to do for this year. So, call this personal goal “COMPLETE” even before 2017 comes. It takes quite a bit of work to prepare and research for the upcoming year and then try and add what you’ve completed…it’s a tricky but rewarding feeling to say that things have been completed, by the end.

My goals: I hope to write at least ten articles. - Achieved. I hope to pass the NAB test. - Failed. I hope to have at least one featured article, or one rising star. - I got a rising star. I hope to have over two hundred edits. - Duh. Achieved. I hope to have patrolled five hundred to a thousand edits. - Achieved.

This is interesting.

My goals for this year:

  1. PARTICIPATE. I was on hiatus for most of the 2015 year, so I would really like to be more involved this year.

  2. Get all of my articles boosted. Right now, I have a few still under review or tagged as stubs.

  3. Become a booster.

  4. Write at least five more quality articles.

I’m keeping things simple this year, so that’s my list!

@ Byankno1   Chris I am sure you will complete all of your plans in the coming 12 months. You work so hard for wikiHow and I rely on your technical knowledge to help me!

In light of completing https://www.wikihow.com/Plan-a-Trip-to-Taiwan , one of my goals is to write more travel articles on traveling to places we don’t already have articles on how to plan a trip to. I love traveling so I enjoy doing the research on places I have never been to. In fact, I’m about to start work on another one! I also hope to continue working on NAB and attend the 2017 meetup, wherever that may be:slight_smile:

Nice ideas @darkfrost !

  1. Be on wikiHow and edit more often

  2. Be encouraging and welcoming to others

3)… I forgot what I was about to write!

My goal is to write and improve articles on drawing fractals and other interesting figures and shapes.

I also hope to attend a meetup, but since it is going to be held somewhere in America, that is probably not going to happen (◞‸◟ ).

Oh yes, and if I have patrolled 25,000 edits by next year, that would also be amazing.
