If you don't like your current profile picture on YouTube, you can easily change it. You can choose to upload a new image from your device's gallery or take a new one. Here's how to change your profile picture on YouTube using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.
Quick Steps
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap View channel .
- Tap the pencil icon.
- Tap your current profile picture.
- Tap Choose from your photos to select a new photo.
- Tap Save .
Steps

Open the YouTube app. This looks like a white play button in a red square.
- If you aren't already logged in , enter your email address and password to do so now.

Tap View channel . This is on the right of your YouTube handle.

Tap the pencil icon. You can find this on the right side of your bio, next to Manage videos and the Analytics icon.

Tap your current profile picture. This will have a camera icon on top of it.

Tap Choose from your photos . This will open your device's gallery.
- If you want to use your camera to snap a new photo instead, tap Take a photo .

Select a new photo and tap Save . If needed, reposition the photo, or zoom in/out. Your new profile will be saved.
- If you want to change your cover photo , tap your current banner. Follow the same steps to add a new profile picture.

Go to https://www.youtube.com in a web browser. If you're not signed in to YouTube , click Sign In in the upper-right corner to do so now.

Click your current profile picture. This is in the top-right corner of the page.

Click Customize channel . This is at the top of the page, next to your profile picture.
- A new page will open.

Click Branding . This is the tab between Layout and Basic info .

Click Change . This is the button to the right of your profile picture.
- If you don't have a profile picture currently added, you'll see Upload instead.

Select a new profile picture. Use the pop-up window to navigate to your image file. Select it, and then click Open .
- If needed, reposition the photo, or zoom in/out. Your new profile will be saved.
- Your new profile picture will be saved.
- If you want to upload a new cover photo, click Upload next to Banner image and select a photo.
