Every Status you create on WhatsApp will be available for your contacts to view for 24 hours. This works similarly to Snapchat and Instagram, where your content will disappear after the time is up.   1. Open WhatsApp on a mobile device.
  2. Tap Updates .
  3. Tap + to add a status.
  4. Tap the circle button to take a picture or record a video.

    Tap the white circle at the bottom of your screen to take a picture, or hold it down to record video.
    • To flip the camera, tap the two curved arrow icons in the bottom-right corner.
    • You can also select a photo or video from your Camera Roll at the bottom-left of your screen to add it to your Status.
