One of the coolest things about Snapchat is that the photos and videos you send will self-destruct after being viewed by the recipient(s). But what if you've shared a Snap you regret sharing and it hasn't yet been deleted? You can now delete Snaps you've shared anywhere in Snapchat, including those that haven't yet been viewed by the recipients. This wikiHow teaches you how to delete a Snap on Snapchat using an Android, iPhone, or iPad.

- Tap your Story.
- Swipe up on the Snap you want to delete.
- Tap the trash can icon.
- Tap Delete .

Open Snapchat. It's a yellow-and-white ghost icon on your Home screen or in your app list.
- Snaps are automatically deleted from your story after 24 hours. [1] X Research source If you don't see the Snap you're looking for, it's already been deleted.

Tap your Story. This is under the My Stories header.

Swipe up on the Snap. If there are multiple Snaps in your Story, tap the right side of the screen to skip to the one you want to delete. [2] X Research source

Tap the trash can icon. You can find this at the bottom of the screen.

Tap Delete . The Snap will be deleted from your Story.

Open Snapchat. It's a yellow-and-white ghost icon on your Home screen or in your app list.
- If a Snap is set to Never Delete , users can save a Snap by long-pressing the Snap while viewing a Snap (or directly after viewing). Saved Snaps will appear in the Chat Media section. Use this method to delete any Snap you sent within a chat.
- All unopened Snaps may be kept for up to 60 days after they've been sent.

Swipe right to open the Chat screen. This displays all of your conversations.

Tap the chat with the Snap you want to delete. You can delete a Snap from a chat with one person or a group chat.
- The other people in the chat will be able to see that you've deleted a Snap, although they will no longer be able to view the Snap itself. [3] X Research source

Tap and hold the Snap. A pop-up menu will appear.

Tap Delete . This is at the bottom, near the trash can icon.

Tap Delete again. This deletes the Snap from the conversation and Snapchat's servers.
- If someone saved the Snap to the chat as Chat Media, it will be removed from there as well.
- Keep in mind that some Snaps may show briefly on other devices due to unstable internet connections or older versions of the app.

Tap the two-overlapping rectangles. This is at the bottom-left corner of the screen. Your Memories will open.
- You can also swipe up on the screen.

Long-press the Snap you want to delete. You can scroll down to view your Snaps, or you can use the search bar at the top to search for keywords or dates.
- Icons will appear at the bottom of the screen.
- If you want to select multiple, tap the Snaps so the blue checkmark appears in the bottom-right corner of each Snap.

Tap Delete . This is under the trash can icon.

Tap Delete Snap . If you're deleting more than one, you'll see "Delete [number] Snaps" instead.
- The Snaps will be deleted from your Memories.
- If needed, you can recover deleted Memories by submitting an official request.
